As the city grows, so will the need for police officers and the service they provide. This project will add small substations in various locations throughout the community to enahnce effective community policing.

There is a growing demand for active recreation facilities that could be met with a regional complex of youth and adult athletic facilities, gymnasiums, playgrounds, shelters, concessions and an aquatic center.

The city constructed four new fire stations that will increase the level of service to residents. This project will fund equipment for those new stations.

Transport

Ongoing maintenance and repair of roads keeps them safe for travel. This project will reconstruct and resurface roads throughout the city. Additional work will improve drainage.
Parcs

A portion of Warm Mineral Springs Park was purchased with surtax funds. With a consistent average temperature of 85 degrees year-round, the springs are rumored to have one of the highest mineral content of any natural spring in the United States. Internationally renowned for its purported healing qualities, the park attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually. The springs and park buildings are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

This project would replace vehicles with excessive mileage or maintenance issues that are no longer safe for police purposes.

Extending water and wastewater services to platted lots within the city will eliminate the potential hazards of septic systems and over-pumping of the aquifer through private wells, resulting in greater system reliability, improved public health, retention of the natural tree canopy and better fire protection.

Improving the city’s potable water distribution system, parts of which are more than 40 years old, will enhance fire flow, water quality and water pressure for residents. Installation of more connected, wider water lines will also reduce the amount of flushing necessary to maintain water quality.
Autres projets

To efficiently collect solid waste, the city plans to replace existing solid waste collection vehicles with more reliable and safe equipment. This includes front load, recycling, claw and roll-off garbage trucks and mid-sized pickups.

A comprehensive facilities study is underway to gauge the potential for centrally locating new municipal facilities that could be shared by departments doing similar functions. The city's existing buildings for Public Works, Utilities, Fleet Maintenance and other support services were built in the 1970s when the city was much smaller and more compact. Because of growth, they are no longer in the best locations for operations and population centers. Depending on the results of the study, this cou
