New construction replaced buildings that had reached the end of their functional life and provided a safe and modern learning environment for students and staff. Renovations to existing buildings that were not replaced included interior painting, enhanced lighting and flooring upgrades in order to bring them up to current district standards.

Renovations to Buildings #4 and #5 included modernization of buildings built in the late 1950s. Both buildings were gutted, had structural issues remediated, and were designed and rebuilt. Building #42 underwent minor renovations to provide swing space for programs that were being displaced from Building #4 during its renovation.

Bay Haven

Renovations the interior renovations in the cafeteria, art and music rooms included new flooring, enhanced LED lighting, new ceilings and new case work. Renovations helped to modernize these existing spaces to better suit the needs of the students at Bay Haven.

Fruitville Elementary School

Buildings #3 and #16 were renovated to include new lighting, flooring and minor interior remodeling to fit the needs of the school. The new classroom wing provided modern learning spaces for the students, along with permanent student stations.

The campus underwent a complete HVAC renovation that included air-side and water-side upgrades (new chillers), LED lighting upgrades, flooring upgrades, painting and casework replacement. These upgrades provided a new and improved learning atmosphere for the students.

Venice Middle School
Venice Middle School

Renovations included complete replacement of all HVAC equipment, new chillers and thermal storage tanks and classroom upgrades to replace demountable walls with permanent structures, and install new LED lighting, flooring, paint and casework. These renovations improved indoor air quality issues throughout the buildings, and provided updated learning spaces for the students. Cafeteria and kitchen renovations increased cafeteria space, improved queuing for lunch lines, and enhanced work space.

Funding supported the renovation of space that was not replaced on the Venice High campus and supported some new construction. Both projects resulted in a safer, more compact campus and reduced maintenance-related issues.
